I was able to drive & test, & this transmission worked correctly. The donor vehicle was taken off the road on account of an engine damaged by over-heating, but was still driveable

If you have a very early A4 (1995 or 1996) that has a bad transmission then DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY FIXING IT. The early boxes were badly designed, & Audi went through several revisions and modifications before they managed to make them reliable, in 1997. This is the later type, & I am selling complete with the matching TCU exactly as removed from vehicle, which enables you to do a plug 'n play conversion

The DMU version continued to be fitted to cars built up to the end of December 1999

Before you consider a swap, also check your final drive ratio. Not all are the same. The DMU is 4.444

This later box will NOT work with the TCU from an older car with the earlier transmissions. You need to replace both parts, together

The early transmission codes, which are weak and unreliable, are CUW CLF DFG DFH and DFK I would be willing to deliver for $20.00 in the Chch Metro area
