The "D" and "E" suffix parts were fitted to B7 base models only and numbered as 640 while S4 was fitted with "E" or "G" and known as 641
All of the various versions will work with any servotronic rack from 2001 - 2008 but there is supposedly slightly different steering characteristics with each. There is plenty of debate in the various owner forums rgearding which one is better than another. Google is your friend
