VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG TRANSFER CASE DIFF-LOCK CONTROL MODULE 0AD927755BE 2003 - 2008

The first 2 or 3 years of Series-1 Touareg production had a well know fault in the transmission, which resulted in the stepper motor that operated the diff-lock binding up on turns. This would cause a scrubbing of the tyres and if left unrepaired for too long could even result in a wrecked transfer case

The NZ importers knew all about this issue, and it should in most cases have been repaired under warranty. However many of the used Touaregs from Japan have not had the problem rectified, and are still driving around in this state, the owner's often oblivious

The vin numbers specified in the technical bulletin (linked above) are not 100% reliable. I have known newer cars from later in 2004 and on into 2005 to still need upgraded/updated parts

The repair involves one or both of the following:

1: Replacement of the stepper motor
2: Flashing a software update to the controller, carried out online only at a genuine authorised dealership (or complete replacement of the module). VW NZ now refuse to do this under any sort of extended warranty goodwill, even though the cars were faulty from new; which is pretty typical of them

Replacing a stepper motor without also fitting updated software will eventually just result in the new motor being destroyed in the same way!

This controller module is from a 2007 model year car, and contains one of the later/latest softwares, version "BE". I cannot advise if it is everything you need to fix your particular car, but it could certainly be part of what you need, if yours is a very early 2003 2004 2005 example

Removed from a 2007 pre-facelift Touareg with rear collision damage. Has undergone a diagnostic scan and there were no stored errors related to the transmission, ABS or transfer case
