This is the very rare early style of GTI light that was fitted to 2005 and 2006 build cars

They were an expensive housing to make, so in 2007 and later cars Volkswagen downgraded them to an ugly cheaply-manufactured light with a simple reflector, which looked bad and also did not throw such a well-controlled beam
Manufactured for Volkswagen by Hella in Europe
There are chinese made replicas of these lights available - we sell them ourselves because genuine is so hard to find. However they do not use the original bulb type. They use 9006 bulbs and require replacement of the plug on the car's harness, or the use of adapters
Note:
1: This light had 2 damaged mounting brackets but due to the rarity of this type of foglight we considered it was worth having those repaired. The plastic-welded repair was professionally carried out by a Christchurch company called Plastik-Fix. The light is 100% fit for purpose and the repairs are out-of-sight and invisible once fitted to the car
2: A used H11 bulb is fitted but has not been tested. If it works then that is a bonus. The filament appears to be intact
3: Photos shown are stock library images and do not show the plastic-welded repair. They are accurate representations of the exact style of foglight and of the attachment bracket locations
