As far as we can establish this connector is also included in the upper hose assembly for certain 24v VR6, under part numbers 1J0122101CG (automatic) 8N0122101E and 8N0122101F but was not sold as a separate part for those models
This is not gospel, but may help you arrive at a solution to repairing these now obsolete top hose assemblies
