DIPSTICK NEW AUDI Q5 3.0 3.0L TDI DIESEL 2009 - 2011 626MM FOR GEN-2 MODELS WITHOUT ONE FROM THE FACTORY
** ARE YOU LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE 3.0T V6 DIESEL MODELS FOR WHICH VAG DECIDED YOU'RE NOT CAPABLE OF USING A DIPSTICK? **
Part number: 059115611AA or 059 115 611 AA
reference #32 in the parts catalogue illustration
This is a good quality aftermarket part but not genuine
A few years ago VAG decided to eliminate the dipstick from many models, even though they still fitted a tube for one, & then put an easily removed cap over it for the workshop to use. Evidently you should rely on a sensor to tell you when you need oil, through the dashboard display
** THEIR SYSTEM DOES NOT PROVIDE OWNERS VERY MUCH CONFIDENCE. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR A PROPER OLD-SCHOOL MANUAL METHOD TO CHECK OIL LEVEL **
** NOTE THE CURVED SHAPE OF THE TUBE THAT ACCEPTS THIS DIPSTICK - IF THE TUBE IS NOT EXACTLY THIS SHAPE THEN THIS DIPSTICK WILL NOT SUIT YOUR CAR **
(You are buying a dipstick only and not the tube - Photo of tube is for reference purpose only)

As far as we can establish this "AA" suffix part only works for Q5 8R platform 2009 - 2010
Note: There is an earlier style of dipstick which is ONLY for 2.7L and 3.0L TDI diesel models prior to 2009 which DID have a dipstick from the factory. That version is a little shorter at approx. 614 mm. You can find that type also on this store by searching for part # 059115611AB
To complicate things more there is also #059115611AM shorter again at 585mm which is a more common solution and works for most 2011 onwards Gen-2 A6 Q7 and Touareg. There is no exact date for the change of design and VAG changed the tube and dipstick length randomly on different models at different times

FOR EARLY GEN-2 3.0 DIESEL ENGINES ONLY
FOR CARS WITH ELECTRONIC OIL LEVEL SYSTEM
photo of 2 dipsticks side-by-side demonstrates the 40mm approx. difference in length between AA and AM
If you are not sure then please ask a question and we will do our best to help. There are no refunds if you get it wrong. Before asking a question though I will need you to tell us your rego number and vin number or we can't even begin to give a reply
