This is a very good quality aftermarket light which has been produced to replicate the early style of GTI light that was fitted to 2005 and 2006 build cars
They were an expensive housing to make, so in 2007 and later cars Volkswagen downgraded them to an ugly cheaply-manufactured light with a simple reflector, which looked bad and also did not throw such a well-controlled beam
I have examined samples from several sources, and these are the best quality aftermarket examples I can find. They have been fitted with the later "9006" style of bulb-holder, so on a car which left the factory with the later cheap reflector type, they will be plug and play
If you are buying with the intention of replacing a damaged foglight on the 2005 or 2006 GTI then those years have a connector for H11 type bulbs, and you will also need to use a harness adapter which can be found on this listing:

A 9006 bulb is included but it is chinese and the quality of those can be very variable. Be prepared to replace it with a better quality branded bulb before too many hours go by
